16/17- 09-2007 Kyoto

Quale meravigliosa e affascinante città Kyoto! I templi, le piccole stradine, i tradizionali negozi, si respira un'aria di amicizia e pace, il posto giusto per rilassarsi. Ma anche la parte moderna non e' meno stupefacente, la stazione ferroviaria è un capolavoro di architettura d'avanguardia, dove la gente si ritrova per svolgere attività ricreative, e' pieno di bambini festanti. Ci sentiamo a nostro agio in ogni angolo, per il fine settimna ci sono molti turisti giapponesi, ci confondiamo tra la folla e ci godiamo la città. Decidiamo di visitare alcuni principali templi, ma una settimana non sarebbe sufficiente. Siamo stupefatti nell'ammirare le cento statue, il tempio d'oro nella foresta. vorremmo restare di più a visitare questa meravigliosa città, ma la tappa finale di Hiroshima ci attende, un misto di gioglia e tristezza ci assale nel constatare che dopo 7 settimane il nostro viaggio sta per concludersi. Hiroshima arriviamo !!!!

What a wonderful town! Beside the temples, the traditional houses, the small streets, the wonderful shops the whole town is peaceful, friendly and relaxed. We feel really at ease everywhere, maybe also because it is a long week-end, there are a lot of Japanese tourist, the city seems welcoming us all very quietly. We choose some main temple to visit , but a week would not be enough. We are overwhelmed by the 1000 statues in , by the temples in the forest of and by the golden pavillion of. We end our 2 days tour in the rock garden of. We would like to see more but we need to move on towards the final date for our long journey. We start talking about the last events in Hiroshima, it is rather strange after 7 weeks to discuss the closure of our trip.

At times we feel like we have been on the road forever, but then it looks like we just left Venice a couple of days ago….
